Come to The Old Threshing Mill and visit the beautiful Border countryside. There are opportunities to walk, cycle and fish.

   

Visit the Abbeys and historic border towns; walk along the Tweed; climb the Eildons or Cheviot; Edinburgh is 1 hour away; the Northumberland coast with its beautiful beaches and stunning castles is 1 hours drive away; the historic town of Berwick upon Tweed with its Elizabethan walls is 40 minutes drive.

Also available locally are riding, canoeing, fishing, shooting and rugby in the season - the world famous Melrose 7s are held in April.


All these beautiful places and many more are within walking, cycling and driving distance added to which there are many cycling and walking routes criss-crossing this outstanding countryside. Millfield has the UK Cycling Route 1 running past the door.

There is fishing, shooting, rugby, racing at Kelso ("the friendly racecourse"), the famous Border Union Agricultural Show, and equally famous annual Ram Sale, all occurring at different times of the year. Throughout the year, winter and summer alike you will always find plenty to see and to do.
